Roderick's parents both died when he was in his 20s. His oldest brother died in his 40s. As we launched the organization, Carter Lipscomb — a close friend and the organization's first board member — died too.

These losses fueled him. They humbled him. And they revealed something he couldn't unsee: most people don't get the grief support they need, even when it exists.

He spent 30 years building digital platforms — in gaming, search, social media, streaming, and mobile — with five exits along the way. He's a proven entrepreneur who knows how to build things that find people where they are.

The culmination of his career, he brings his media, technology and marketing prowess to bear in the creation of the Healing Center, by Empower Change. This is where everything converges — a life shaped by loss, and three decades of building platforms that connect people.
